My youngest son’s nickname changes from Prince Charming to Grumpy Badger when he’s having a bad day. The other day my hubby set up an episode of Woody Woodpecker on Hulu.com for the boys. I saw something truly hilarious during the show. It was Grumpy Badger’s evil twin! I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw it and I thought I would share it with you.
The newer version of Woody Woodpecker (late 90’s/early 00’s) featured a character by the name of Badger. He rarely spoke except for one recurring line: “Hiya, buddy.” The visual of the character in and of itself made me immediately burst out into fits of laughter, but the voice really makes it.
I learned an interesting fact about the actor who played Badger. It’s Luke Skywalker! You know, of Star Wars fame. Mark Hamill is Badger! For some reason this struck me as even more hilarious when I heard Badger again on another episode.
In light of what I see all the time with my own little Grumpy Badger, this Badger is now my all-time favorite character from Woody Woodpecker. I know you think I’m a little nuts, but I’m okay with that.
